Reduced Climate Impact

The environmental objective "Reduced Climate Impact" is set to avoid the risk of dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system and to limit the increase in the global mean temperature to no more than 2 °C above pre-industrial levels.

The Swedish Parliament has adopted a vision of zero net emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere in Sweden by 2050.

How does the CLEO research support the environmental objective "Reduced Climate Impact"?
CLEO is engaged in the development of the next generation of climate models which will be able to predict future climate with reduced uncertainty. The specific research tasks include development of model descriptions of particles and how they influence formation of clouds and precipitation (Project 1.4, Cluster 1). Climate scenario data to be used as drivers in the hydrological and ecosystem research are also derived in CLEO (Project 1.1, Cluster 1)
