Conflicts and synergies

An important aspect of working with the environmental objectives is to ensure that measures introduced to reach different targets are not in conflict with each other.

The CLEO research will focus on evaluating how an increased use of forest biomass for fossil free energy purposes will affect environmental objectives on acidification and eutrophication (Projects 4.2 and 4.3, Cluster 4). The CLEO research also includes analysis of how emission reduction strategies for air pollutants and climate gases interact and how they can be optimized for dual benefit (Project 4.1, Cluster 4).
